Our client is currently looking for a Country Manager to manage its operations in Kuwait who will be responsible to drive the Country’s business strategy and ensure high growth and profitability by demonstrating the ability to take calculated risks with a good understanding of the market and business environment whilst also ensuring good client relationship and effective talent management. This is a permanent position on an open ended contract.
Reporting into the Vice President for GCC, the successful candidate will define and implement the business development strategy for the Country by building a strong and efficient network locally and regionally and in co-ordination with the Zone Business Development Manager.
You will drive employee engagement and retention and promote the development of local talent.
You will find innovative solutions and develop new markets whilst delivering strong results and profitability.
You will manage complex contractual relationships and you will evaluate current infrastructure and present a detailed model for change.
You will provide effective risk management for our people and assets in complex political, social and economic environments.
You will maintain constructive relations with local partners and authorities.
You will prepare 3 year business plans, annual budgets and strive to achieve the goals set.
You will work closely with the Country Financial Controller to review monthly P&L and forecasts.
Finally you will ensure client satisfaction through high quality service standards and excellent relationship based on mutual trust and will set operational standards and ensure excellent HSE results.
Of graduate calibre, the ideal candidate will be an accomplished Country Manager, Catering General Manager / Hotel Manager and will have a proven track record in contract catering or facilities management sectors ideally in GCC and internationally.
Your practical experience should be supported by a Degree in Business Management or in Catering / Hospitality or Facilities Management.
You will have a good knowledge of remote site management and your operational experience should have included responsibility for multi-site catering, housekeeping, laundry and maintenance.
Ideally your experience will have included managing a company ( over 500 staff and / or turnover $40m )
You should have previously managed multi-site support functions such as HR, Finance, Supply Chain, QHSE, Operations etc.
You will have strong entrepreneurial flair, good commercial and financial acumen, be achievement oriented and have strong leadership skills able to create team effectiveness.
You will be energetic, highly motivated, results oriented and capable of inspiring your team.
Capable of independent thought and possess excellent planning and organisation skills, able to work to tight deadlines, you should be fluent in English and ideally able to speak some Arabic. You should have a strong attention to detail.
Instant credibility is essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.
